Pine Nut reaches 85 Tons in Kapisa

The Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Kapisa Province says, “The yield of Pine Nut in this province reached 85 Metrics Tons this year."
The Directorate states "This year, nearly 2,000 Hectares of land in the Nijrab, Tagaba and Al-Hosa districts were covered by Pine Nut forests."
Homayoun Habib, head of the Kapisa Directorate of agriculture said, "Pine nut is traditionally processed in the province and traders buy the product unprocessed."
Mr. Habib said, Pine nut is one of the most important export items of Nijrab, Al-Hasai and Tagab districts.
He added "Every year, a large amount of black Pine nut is exported from these districts to other provinces and even abroad as dried fruit of Afghanistan and has a special place in local and International markets.
