Production of Raisins in Herat will reach 15,000 Tons this Year

The production of Raisins in Herat province will reach 15,000 Tons this year.
About 13,000 Metric Tons of Green raisins and 2,000 Tons of (Abjosh) Raisins will be produced this year in this province.
This year, 140,000 Metric Tons of Grapes were harvested from 8,700 Hectares of Vineyards, a15 percent increase over last year.
Herat is a major producer of Grapes and Raisins, and the largest Grapes Vines are located in Injil, Guzara, Obeh, Pashtun Zarghun, Zandijan and Karakh districts.
At present, the price of a Kilo of Raisins is 150 Afghanis in Herat Market.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock has built 1,400 Raisins in Herat province this year to prevent the loss of Grapevine crops and help improve the situation of Gardeners.
These Raisins were built through a Crop management program.
With the construction of these Raisins Houses, the total number of Raisins Houses in Herat province has reached to 1,400.
