Following the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture to promote and support the cultivation and production of dates, the Department of Agriculture of Farah Province is planning to build 27 Acres of land as a Garden and date collection, Construction of these Groves will practically begin in the near future.
The date palm has been growing sporadically in the province for a long time and its effects are still visible.
Due to the agreement of the date palm with the sunny and hot climate of Farah province, in recent years more attention has been paid to the promotion of this plant, and the construction of research farms as well as the construction of Date collections by the Ministry of Agriculture.
Al-Gharafah, a Qatari charity, has previously planted 100 Acres of Date on a research farm in Farah, and the Orchard is yielding excellent results after five years.
The climate of Farah province is arid and relatively hot, and according to research, the climate of this province, compared to other provinces, is in good agreement with plants that needs less water and more sun.
Earlier, it was reported that 25 acres of Date Orchards would be built in Helmand.
In recent years, date yields have increased in the country and these days, domestic Dates are also sold in the capital's markets, which has been welcomed by citizens.
