Ahady discusses financing new projects with officials of Asian Development Bank

Dr. Anwarul Haq Ahady, minister of agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MAIL), spoke via video conference with Narendra Sangro, President of Asian Development Bank for Afghanistan, about the implementation and financing of new projects.
The conversation was attended by Hashmatullah Ghafouri, deputy minister of irrigation and natural resources, Yasiman Sediqi, director of natural resources and agriculture of Asian Development Bank for Central and Western Asia, and Hamdullah Hamdard, General director of Asian Development Program Headquarters at MAIL.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed various agricultural issues, in particular the HVCDSP project, the Arghan-dab project and finding the solutions to speed up the work of these projects and other projects which are funded by Asian Development Bank at the Ministry of Agriculture. They also discussed the new project of the Ministry of Agriculture for livestock development and the irrigation project at the village level, which is to be started with financial support of Asian Development Bank.
Dr. Anwarul Haq Ahady, MAIL minister, in this conversation, while thanking and appreciating the ongoing support of the Asian Development Bank to Afghan agricultural sector, called for more attention of the bank regarding ongoing projects and new projects of the Ministry of Agriculture. The Minister of Agriculture stressed the importance of livestock and horticultural projects, as well as the processing of agricultural products, and called for more attention from the Asian Development Bank in these areas. He also called on the bank to pay attention to the drought and fight its consequences. In addition, the Minister of Agriculture spoke about the establishment of a technical team and emphasized future plans.
Narendra Sangro, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), thanked the Ministry of Agriculture, provided information on future projects and their financing, and pledged that the Bank would continue to support the Ministry of Agriculture. He also spoke about the drought and its consequences, saying that the ADB supports the Afghan government's plans in this area.
