Distribution of Agricultural packages for 70 Saffron workers in Daikundi

Agricultural packages including 9 items including saffron fertilizer and agricultural spices were distributed by Provincial Directorate of Agriculture to 70 saffron farmers in five districts of the province. An academic workshop was also held for these farmers.
Sayed Abdul Wahed Firoozi, provincial director, said that the aim of the workshop was to increase the capacity of saffron growers so that they could increase the quantity and quality of their produce. He added that Daikundi province, due to its suitable climate for saffron production, is among the largest saffron producers this year and more attention will be paid to its standard production in coming years.
Fatima Akbari, deputy governor of Daikundi, said that saffron, as a medicinal plant, has a good domestic and foreign market. He added that, given the greater employment of women in production and harvesting of saffron, its promotion will boost the women's economy. It is worth mentioning that Daikundi province has three saffron production associations.
