Completed Work of Parwan in fiscal year 1399 in Agriculture Sector

The Parwan Directorate of Agriculture says that this year, within the framework of agricultural product management program, the construction of 200 onion storages, 35 potato storages, 154 raisin and 12 zero energy cold storages has started and 30 sun-dried fruit and vegetable drying machines have been distributed. These projects have been launched in Parwan province with worth 197 million 894 thousand 997 AFN. About 95% of the construction work on these warehouses and cold storages has been completed, and the rest will be completed within another week.
The Parwan directorate of Agriculture has also distributed 326 metric tons of improved wheat seeds worth 8,400,000 Afghanis to 5,000 farmers this year.
Parwan Agriculture directorate has built an irrigation network worth 22 million 159 thousand 495 AFN built in Sabi Khel, Qala-e-Boland-e-Rabat, Qala-e-Nasro, Qala-e-Goli villages of Bagram district and Sanjad-e-Dara village of the provincial capital.
With the construction of these networks, the farmers' access to water and their yield will be increased.
Work on a standard fruit and vegetable cold storage, which began this year, is also about 30 percent complete. 180-million-AFN cold storage facility will be built by the Ministry of Agriculture through National Development Company on a seven-acre plot with a storage capacity of 1,500 metric tons of fruit in the Jangalbagh area of central Parwan.
Also, National Horticulture and Livestock Project (NHLP) of the Ministry of Agriculture (MAIL)has built 560 acres of orchards in different districts of Parwan province this year at a cost of 16 million 816 thousand and 200 Afghanis,These gardens include grapes, apples, apricots, peaches, plums and nuts.
In addition to other achievements of the Parwan directorate of Agriculture, ten milk collection centers have been built this year in the center and in the districts of Jabal Saraj and Bagram.
Extensive work has been done by the above-mentioned directorate in the field of artificial insemination of animals, control of plant and animal pests and diseases, application of brucellosis vaccine.
Grapes, raisins, berries, wheat, potatoes, corn and beans are important products of Parwan province which berries and grapes have a special reputation.
