The construction of Mohammad Hussain irrigation canal completed

The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) has completed the construction of Mohammad Hussain Irrigation Canal in Takhar province.
The 1.1-kilometer-long canal was built through Panj Amu Sea Sector Project (PARBSP) owned by MAIL.
The mentioned canal is located in center of Takhar province which is originated from “Nahr-Chaman” public canal.
This Canal is one of the second degree canals covering a total of 20 acres of agricultural land, which was built at a cost of 450,000 AFN with the assistance of Asian Development Bank (ADB) and European Union (EU), 180 families benefit from this channel.
(PARBSP) project is working in Kunduz, Takhar and Badakhshan provinces on rehabilitating irrigation canals, constructing drains, establishing irrigation associations, forestry and constructing plots to decrease poverty and upgrade crop yields. Providing technical training to farmers in covered provinces is another aim of this project.
