66 Forestry Associations Received Licenses in Kunar

The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock has established a number of forestry associations in Kunar province to protect, rehabilitate and develop forests, which were officially licensed today.
Mohammad Rafi Qazizadeh, general director of natural resources of MAIL, during his visit to Kunar province, dispensed official forestry licenses to 66 forestry associations.
The director of natural resources of the ministry of agriculture says, "the establishment of forestry associations in accordance with the Forest Regulation Law(FRL) will help forest dwellers to protect, rehabilitate, develop and have a good environment with a prosperous economy, and end the official activities of forestry associations. Will also prevent deforestation.
Mr. Qazizada says, "the legal use of natural resources is the right of every citizen of the country, but it must be done formally and administratively so as not to destroy these resources.
However, Gul Mohammad Bidar, deputy governor of Kunar province said that before the 40-year war, 16 percent of the country's forests were in Kunar province, most of which were destroyed during the war, and in recent years the Ministry of Agriculture Rehabilitation and development of forests in this province has been effective.
Mr. Bidar says" The only solution for the protection and development of forests is to create associations, and if these associations work in a healthy competition in this sector, we will see progress in the forest areas of the province in the future, which will cause positive climate change and people's economy will be changed.
The Deputy Governor of Kunar acknowledges that deforestation and smuggling are still taking place in some parts of Kunar, and that they are working with the provincial police to stop the smuggling.
Establishment of forestry associations will also help prevent deforestation and smuggling.
However, a number of Kunar residents expressed satisfaction with the activities of the MAIL natural resources department in the province, saying "They would work with the government to protect and restore forests.
The purpose of establishing forestry associations in the provinces that have natural forests, is forest protection, restoration, development and protection of forests and also to have a suitable climate for prosperous life and economic growth of forest dwellers.
