Forest restoration and rehabilitation project- 735,000 € project began in Samangan to rehabilitate 180 Hectares forest

The Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Samangan's Province says that "a project worth 735 thousand Euros has been launched to rehabilitate 180 Hectares of forests and natural landscapes in the province.
The project, funded by the German government, aims to plant 30,000 Saplings for 180 Hectares of forest and natural landscapes in Hazrat Sultan district.
This project is implemented by the Investment Against Poverty Institute.
Mohammad Rahman Arghandwal, Head of Samangan’s Agriculture Department, says "that with starting of reforestation project, hundreds of short-term jobs will be generated.
He said that "the aim of the project is to revitalize forests and natural landscapes, and will will plant 30,000 seedlings of Pistachios, Almonds, Willows and Photographic trees parallel to 180 Hectares of land, and plant native medicinal plants and shrubs.
He said "that with the implementation of this project, 14,400 cavities, each four Meters long, will be dug by thousands of workers.
This project is allocated for three years and includes digging two deep Wells and installing a Solar device to draw water and irrigate the planted seedlings.
