Minister of Agriculture and President of WFP Meets to Address Possible Drought Damage

Dr. Anwarul Haq Ahady, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, met in his office with Mary Allen, President of World Food Organization (WFP) in Afghanistan. During the meeting, they talked about all the arrangements for caring for the victims of the drought, including the distribution of wheat and other food items to needy.
Ahady said at the meeting that the year 1400 is a drought and needy and victims of food and their needs should be helped, because the people cannot tolerate this problem. He also said, "Our effort is to strengthen our plans in this regard, and we ask you to concentrate more on this issue and make more efforts in addressing the needs of the needy."
Then Mary Allen, director of World Food Program (WFO) in Afghanistan, said that a drought had taken place and that their organization was working to address these issues, increase its budget and be fully aware of the situation.
Ms. Allen added that our commitment is announced that from March 2021, we will start providing assistance to five million people and in this regard.
