Meeting of the Minister of Agriculture with World Bank officials about the activities of “EATS” project

The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock met with Amanullah Alamzai, the World Bank's Project Officer at the Ministry of Agriculture, and a number of other Bank officials via videoconference to discuss the activities of the EATS Emergency Agriculture and Food Safety Project.
The mentioned meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock by Shirshah Amiri, and officials of Emergency Agriculture and Food Safety Project.
The projects which are implemented by EATS project with financial support of World Bank were discussed by two sides. The meeting discussed the opportunities and challenges facing the project, as well as the distribution of improved seeds, the construction of Check-dams, the construction of water reservoirs, irrigation projects and other projects implemented by this project.
Dr. Anwarul Haq Ahady, minister of agriculture, irrigation and livestock, said during the meeting,: “ In order to achieve the set goal, the projects must be implemented in a timely and effective manner.”
EATS Project has been established by World Bank and Government of Afghanistan to combat the negative consequences of the coronavirus-outbreak.
