Officials of Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Sar-e-Pul province said, “In fiscal year 1399, 279 million, 966 thousand 81 AFN of Development budget has been allocated for Agricultural sector and hundreds of Agricultural projects have been implemented with its consumption in the province.”

The Directorate added, “The construction of 220 onion and potato warehouses, 280 raisin houses, 20 cold fruit and cold storage facilities and the distribution of 60 sun-dried vegetables and fresh fruits, implemented through “Crop Management Program”, are also included in the projects implemented in Sar-e-Pul.”

During the fiscal year, alongside distributing of 1399, 293 metric tons of modified wheat seeds to farmers of Sar-e-Pul, 13 demonstrations units of wheat, 14 demonstrations units of soybeans and 32 demonstrations units of saffron has also been made.

Also, the construction of a 250-ton warehouse for storing medicinal plants, building promotional units, fighting pests and plant diseases, organizing natural resources in the community and developing livestock and animal health are among the activities carried out in Sar-e-Pul.

By implementing these projects, 7,217 people have directly been benefited from its benefits.
