Signing of a Loan Distribution Agreement worth more than two Billion AfN between ADF and the Ministry of Refugees

A memorandum of understanding worth 2.2 billion AFN was signed between Agricultural Development Fund (ADF) and the Ministry of Refugees to distribute loans to returning emigrants.
Shirshah Amiri, deputy minister of agriculture and livestock of the Ministry of Agriculture (MAIL), said at the signing ceremony,” The Ministry of Agriculture is working to provide lending services to returning and active services in agriculture via Agriculture Development Fund, a non-bank lending institution. He said the memorandum would lend 2.2 billion AFN to 9,000 agricultural returnees to be introduced by the Ministry of Refugees over the next five years."
Also, Shir Alam, deputy minister of policy and implementation of the Ministry of Refugees and says that according to this memorandum, refugees and displaced people who are living inside and outside of the country will be provided with job opportunities by granting these loans.
The Agricultural Development Fund is a non-bank government entity operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture. The fund has lent more than 13 billion AFN since its inception to support various sectors of agriculture and livestock. So far, 56,000 farmers and investors in the agricultural and livestock sectors have benefited from 10.7 billion of loans.
Emal Arman, ADF Director, says the distribution of these loans has had a significant impact on increasing job opportunities and production.
