Report on the achievement of Agricultural Product Management and Horticulture Value Chain projects presented to the Minister of Agriculture

Hashmatullah Ghafoori, deputy minister of natural resources and Irrigation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL), in the presence of the officials of the Agricultural Products Management Program and Horticulture Value Chain Project, informed Dr. Anwarul Haq Ahady, Minister of Agriculture, about the activities and achievements of these projects in fiscal year 1399.
Mr. Ghafoori said that about six months ago, at the same time with the outbreak of coronavirus in the country, a crop management program was launched in 34 provinces to manage agricultural products, prevent the decay of some important crops and create job opportunities for citizens. Mr. Ghafoori said the program was designed by the MAIL itself and implemented across the country.
He added that through agricultural products management program, a total of 10,828 construction sites, potato and onion warehouses, as well as zero energy cold storage facilities were set up to store pomegranates and apples throughout the country.
Hashmatullah Ghafoori also added that during the solar year 1399, through a horticultural value chain project, a total of 1,097 projects were built in 11 provinces, including raisin, potato, onion and apple and pomegranate warehouses, as well as some Fruits and vegetables dryers are gave out to women.
The Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Irrigation added that the implementation of these projects has created temporary job opportunities for 87,000 people and permanent job opportunities for another 29,000 people. According to him, with the completion of the construction work of these projects, more than 165,000 metric tons of agricultural and horticultural products, including apples, grapes, pomegranates, onions, potatoes and some other products will be preserved and will extend their life.
Meanwhile, Dr. Anwarul Haq Ahady, expressing his appreciation for the leadership of Agricultural Products Management Program and the Horticulture Value Chain Project and their staff, said that these projects were implemented in 34 provinces in a short period of time and in an abnormal and coronary manner. It has had its effectiveness. Mr. Ahady emphasized that there was an initiative in the design and promotion of these projects and in a short time, most buildings have been built to store agricultural products in the country.
The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock called for an increase in funding for the crop management program in 1400, and at the same time, by presenting his guidelines, directed that in order to implement the project in time in 1400, all arrangements in the center and provinces be accelerated.
