Reconstruction survey of Pastures begins in Helmand

Helmand Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock’s Directorate said that a survey has started for reconstruction and development of province's pastures.
Zalmai Alko, Helmand's director of agriculture, said that his directorate was working to stabilize all of the province's pasture land, which had been identified according to maps for pastoralists.
Mr. Alko said that in order to survey Helmand's pastures, a delegation from the center has arrived in Helmand to identify and survey areas reserved for pastoralists and nomads to begin rebuilding them.
According to Mr. Alko, the delegation will visit various areas of Helmand province and, according to the plan, the census will continue.
Helmand's director of agriculture also said "With reconstruction of mentioned pastures, a suitable pasture environment will be generated for animals and water cold storages will be maintained.
By doing this significant positive change will be brought to livestock and nomadic economies.
According to Helmand's director of agriculture, the province, which is considered a cattle-rich province, has recently had its natural forests and pastures usurped, destroyed or extensively damaged by natural factors.
Meanwhile, Zalmai Alko, Helmand's director of agriculture, says "He plans to implement large-scale plans to conserve, regenerate and develop natural resources".
The Directorate further stated that with the implementation of these programs, the natural resources of the province will be protected and suitable animals will be provided for livestock and nomads, pastures and food.
