The Citrus Fruit Exhibition holds in Nangarhar

The fruit evergreen or sturgeon fruit exhibition was organized by the Nangarhar Directorate of Agriculture in the courtyard of the province and featured a variety of lemons, oranges, clementine, pomelo and Kinnow. Zia-ul-Haq Amarkhail, governor, police chief, director of local administrations and a number of residents of Nangarhar province visited the exhibition.
Enamullah Safi, director of agriculture in Nangarhar, said, “15 varieties of Nangarhar orchard products have been showcased,” He added that the quality of Citrus products is good and agrees with the eastern weather. This year we will have 11,000 tons of Citrus products, we are trying to achieve self-sufficiency in this sector. That is why we built thousands of acres of land in Citrus Garden and are trying to develop it.
Zia-ul-Haq Amarkhail, the governor of Nangarhar, said on the sidelines of the exhibition: "The climate and soil of the east, especially Nangarhar, is conducive to the cultivation of Citrus Gardens. People are interested in gardening and have been gardening for several years. We are struggling to make Afghanistan self-sufficient in the production of Citrus products in three upcoming years.”
