18 zero-energy apple cold storages completed in Daikundi

Out of a total 21 Zero-energy cold storages for Apple storage in Daikundi province, which are being built as part of Agricultural management project, 18 Cold storages have been completed and put into operation.
The other three cold storages are about 70% complete and will be completed soon.
Total value of the construction of these Cold storages is about 50 Million Afghanis, without the share of gardeners. This money has been paid by the government.
Each of these Cold storages has a storage capacity of 25 Tons of Apples.
After Almonds, Apples are the most widely grown Horticultural crop in Daikundi province, which is widely produced in all 10 districts of the province.
Apples Orchards in Daikundi are 4,900 Acres and this year 35,000 Tons of Apples have been produced from these Orchards.
About 20 types of Apples are produced in Daikundi, the most famous of which is the Dukhtar shah (king’s daughter) Apples.
Dukhtar shah Apples is exported to Kabul and Herat provinces after production, and has a special quality, and pleasure.
Dukhtar shah Apples has urgent buyers, and before it ripens the apple sold to traders.
In previous years, some Daikundi's Apple products were either marketed cheaply or spoiled, but according to the Daikundi's Department of Agriculture, this year will help growers by implementing Agricultural management projects that include the construction of 21 Apple's cold storages.
Up to 520 Tons of Apples are harvested, stored and marketed at the time of market demand.
In this case, both a good market for the products will be found and the market demand will be met, which will increase the income of gardeners and the development of Horticulture.
In recent years, the amount of Apple's orchards has increased, and in addition to the gardeners themselves contributing to the construction of the Orchards, the National Horticulture and Livestock Project of the Ministry of Agriculture has built more than thousand Acres of land standard Apples Orchards in Daikundi.
