The leadership meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture held to review the drought

Leadership meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL)today, Monday, Jawza 17: June 7, 2021 held a meeting  on reviewing of drought and it’s impressions on  agricultural sector, increase of seasonal customs tariffs on imported agricultural products to support domestic production and purchase wheat to support drought victims.
In the outset of this meeting, the deputies of MAIL discussed various issues and shared their viewpoints.
Then Dr. Anwarul Haq Ahady, minister of agriculture, irrigation and livestock, said,” Specific plan had been made for the drought, he instructed to talk to the Ministry of Finance and donors to receive funding to address the drought status.”
MAIL minister added that coordination with relevant institutions and departments should be strengthened regarding the seasonal increase of tariffs on imported agricultural products.
