Durrani Inaugurates Hairatan Quarantine Complex
Nasir Ahmad Durrani, minister of agriculture, irrigation, and livestock, during his Balkh trip inaugurated Hairatan Port quarantine complex. The Ministry of Agriculture builds 13 quarantine stations in 13 ports of the country, of which 11 quarantine stations have been completed.
Hairatan quarantine network includes plant and animal sections.
At the opening ceremony of the network, Minister Durrani said that by using this quarantine station, the imports of agricultural products are being tested and the imports of low quality agricultural products are prevented.
Minister Durrani added that building of quarantine networks is one of the requirements and criteria of the World Trade Organization (WTO), which the Ministry of Agriculture has met the requirement, adding that the issue has effect on the standard exports.
Agriculture minister further stated that they are trying to provide laboratory for all these quarantine networks by the end of the year.
