Sar-e-Pul Onion Yields Increase by 20 Percent

Sar-e-Pul Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Directorate said that onion yields have increased by 20 percent in the province this year compared to last year.
According to the directorate, this year over thousand hectares of land were cultivated onion in the provincial capital and a number of districts, each hectare of which produced 55-60 tons onion.
The total onion production in the province is 59,500 metric tons this year, showing 20 percent increase compared to last year.
The agriculture directorate said that the reason behind the increase are abundant precipitation and favorable climatic condition.
Afghanistan onion has also been exported to the United Arab Emirates this year.
