Honey Production Reaches 900 Tons in Paktia

The Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Paktia Province said that the amount of honey production has reached to 900 tons this year.
Mohammad Kabir Aslami, director of animal health and livestock of Paktia Directorate of Agriculture, said, “There are about 450 beekeeping farms in Paktia province, of which about 900 tons of honey have been harvested this year."
According to Mr. Aslami, 95,000 to 100,000 beehives are raised on 450 beekeeping farms.
Mr. Aslami said that various honeys are produced in Paktia province, most famous of which are Shunshobi, Lachi, Spirki and Sanjad.”
Training and distributing medicine to beekeepers has been the work of the Paktia Directorate of Agriculture to serve beekeepers.
It should be said that Paktia has suitable climate for beekeeping.
