Kunduz Melon Yields Increase by 21 This Year

Kunduz Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Directorate said that melon yields have increased by 21 percent in the province this year.

The directorate added that 2,984 hectares of land are under raid-fed melon cultivation while 1,364 hectares of land are under irrigated melon cultivation.

The total yields of rain-fed melon is 6,820 metric tons while the irrigated land is 22,380 metric tons.

The directorate further stated that melon yields have increased by 21 percent this year.

This comes as last year, 4,306 hectares of irrigated and rain-fed lands were under melon cultivation, producing over 24,000 metric tons of melon.
