Durrani Meets WFP Country Director for Afghanistan Today

Nasir Ahmad Durrani, minister of agriculture, irrigation, and livestock, met with Zlatan Milisic, World Food Program country director for Afghanistan, today in his office and discussed the implementation of strategic crops reservoirs projects.
During the meeting, strengthening of communication and cooperation were discussed between both institutions.
Nassir Ahmad Durrani said that the wheat harvest this year was satisfactory in Afghanistan, and urged the World Food Program to buy wheat from domestic markets in order to be distributed to the affected and needy families.
Mr. Durrani also said that the capacity and technical expertise to build new silos in Afghanistan is low and called on the World Food Program to help the Ministry of Agriculture in the technical sector of building new silos.
In return, Milisic said that WFP is ready to cooperate with the Ministry of Agriculture in building new silos and implementing strategic crops reservoirs projects.
