AID packages distributed to 55 families with inauguration of “Hashem" social association

The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) and Agricultural Development Fund (ADF) distributed aid packages to 55 needy families with inauguration of “Hashem" social association.
Shirshah Amiri, Technical and Professional Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Aimal Arman, ADF President and Nabila Popal, President of Social Association, attended the inauguration ceremony and distribution of aid packages.
Shirshah Amiri said,” The government is working to ensure food security and safety and has specific plans in this regard, adding that delivering goodness and assisting the needy is worship, we intend to benefit 215 needy families in five zones from this aid, which we are witnessing the beginning of this program in Kabul."
These aid packages are funded by the provisions and fines of individuals who have borrowed from the mentioned Fund.
Nabila Popal, the director of resulting social association said that the money was collected from those individuals who have borrowed from the Agricultural Development Fund, adding that needy families will be assisted in the future.
Meanwhile, Mr. Arman, the director of Agricultural Development Fund (ADF), says that over the past two years, more than 13 billion afghanis have been donated by international partners to the bank, and more than 10 million has been lent to farmers. He stressed that more than 53,000 farmers have benefited from these loans, and 9 billion of these loans have been repaid so far and distributed to other farmers.
He added that in addition to working with farmers, horticulturists and ranchers, the institution also works with agricultural students annually to continue their education in the scholarship sector.
ADF director further stated that we planned to expand our operations, increase assistance to 3,000 needy people and make more loans available to farmers in the provinces.
Nabila Popal, president of the Agricultural Association, further stated that this association was created to assist needy families, and it’s a pride to be working with painstaking farmers. Adding that our mission is based on justice, a sense of responsibility has led us to establish this association and to be able to help our compatriots in this way, adding that our association is responsible for implementing this work.
Specific cards with the amount of aid were distributed to the needy families at the end of the mentioned program. Holders of these cards can receive their help packages from designated stores.
These packages include a bag of flour, a bag of rice and a can of oil.
In upcoming days, a number of needy families are supposed to be helped with same AID in Balkh, Nangarhar, Kandahar and Herat provinces.
