Ahady meets with a number of traders and Officials of Agricultural Companies

During his trip to Kandahar province, Dr. Anwarul Haq Ahady, minister of agriculture, irrigation and livestock (MAIL), met with a number of merchants, investors, officials of agricultural and livestock companies in Kandahar Chamber of Commerce and Investment to discuss chances and challenges.
Nasrullah Zaher, the director of Kandahar Chamber of Commerce and Investment, briefed the Minister of Agriculture on agricultural products, the province's greenhouses in Kandahar and other areas.
In this meeting, investors asked MAIL minister to support them in providing the processing ground for production of fresh and dried fruits, improve the quality of pesticides, distribute seeds, strengthen the statistical system, decrease customs costs and problems on highways, dry crops and cotton problems.Increased production and cultivation, land allocation to investors, comprehensive fruit research, international certifications in the production of medicinal plants and fresh and dried fruits, and lack of a standard laboratory were other demands of traders and investors from the Minister of Agriculture.
Meanwhile, MAIL Minister said during the meeting, “The capacities in field of agriculture and livestock are high and Kandahar has pivotal role in export of agricultural and livestock items. Stressing that there are some problems and we are struggling to resolve them.”
Mr. Ahady also expressed his satisfaction that in 1399, development projects worth more than 650 million AFN have been implemented by Ministry of Agriculture, adding that the projects number will get upgraded this year.
”Our effort is to construct more cold storages, greenhouses and commercial gardens this year, the agriculture minister told traders and investors.”
