One Hundred Hectares of Pistachio forest to be built in Sar-e-Pul

The Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Sar-e-Pul province has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding for construction of 100 hectares of pistachio forest in the "Imam Sahib Khord" area in center of the province.
The directorate adds that according to 1400 fiscal year plan of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL), the work of implementing the project of rehabilitation and construction of 100 hectares of pistachio forest, which includes the construction of 26,600 terraces for pistachio seeds and regiments, as well as the construction of 2,000 cubic meters of rock material by Forestry association started at a cost of two million and four hundred thousand AFN.
According to the mentioned directorate, a memorandum of understanding to commence the implementation of this project was signed today between directorate of Agriculture and Forestry Association in presence of the Governor of Sar-e-pul.
The new pistachio forest construction program in Sar-e Pol is funded by Emergency Agriculture and Food Safety Project (EATS) and World Bank.
