The five-day meeting of Joint Agricultural Economics Project "OMAID" began and was attended by Dr. Anwarul Haq Ahady, minister of agriculture, irrigation and livestock, and Hashmatullah Ghafouri, deputy minister of irrigation and natural resources of the Ministry of Agriculture(MAIL) with representatives of World Bank, Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ministry of Finance.

Issues such as procurement, finance and how the project will be implemented will be discussed during these five days, and at the end, an agreement will be signed between four institutions.

The Minister of Agriculture inaugurated the mentioned meeting with his speech and talked about the importance of this project.

Similarly, Mr. Ghafouri, said at the meeting that MAIL is at the highest level of cooperation in field of program planning and implementation of the project.

The above-mentioned project is a joint venture between the ministry of agriculture, irrigation and livestock and the ministry of industry and trade.

In implementing this project, MAIL works in field of agricultural products and food safety, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade works in the marketing of these products.

The project will be implemented by World Bank with a budget of 175 million $ over five years.
