Prospect of Saffron Production in Afghanistan:

The level of saffron production in Afghanistan from 1991-2015 reached to about 1,000 hectares with a production of about 3,500 tons; over the past two years (2016, 2017) it increased to more than 5,200 hectares with a production of about 10,600 kilograms. In future the possibility of its development is up to 1, 5000 - 20,000 with a production of 70,000-100,000 tons.  It will help a total of 300 million USD for farmers’ economy.
