Trout, Unique and Unbeatable

This report is a narrative of a man that nobody gave him a positive sign at the beginning of his work, but his determined, intense, and thoughtful intention made him to start his work among all the “no” with his own “yes” only.
 
Now he has become a successful and unbeatable investor.

Now the result of his suffering is unique and unbeatable in the market. Ghulam Nabi Yosufi is one of the enthusiast of work in Afghanistan whose fish product when reached to market get sold rapidly.

The man, Yosufi, is owner of ‘Par to Pas Farm’, where he breed spotted bass (trout).

Yosufi says, “ When I returned from Tehran to Kabul in 2010 (1389 Solar Year) to start fish farming, I did not receive any positive advice for investing; everyone would tell me that I am a ‘fool’ who invest in Afghanistan, but with the experience and interest I had, I started my work by creating seven fish ponds in Faryab province.”

He came through long way, facing numerous difficulties in order to become one of the investors whose products are being sold in several provinces.

Mr. Yosufi added that currently his breeding fish are being sold in Kabul, Baghlan, Parwan, Jawzjan, and a number of other countries.

Impact of Participation at Kabul Agricultural Exhibition

Yosufi says, “Now my fishes are being ordered before reaching the market, and sometimes I cannot afford to fulfill the high demand for my fishes as the demands are high some days.”

“In the past years my products had less buyers but after attending Kabul Agricultural Exhibition, I could draw peoples’ and officials’ attention to myself and my products.”

Yosufi added, “I could get a pavilion at 1397 Autumn Agricultural Exhibition to display and sell my fishes. The minister of agriculture also came to my office and appreciated my work.”


This experienced and energetic man is developing his work in this sector. He says he intends to further extend his work in this sector.

He said, “This year we sold 28 tons fish, and produced 70,000 larva (baby fish). The meat of the fish produced by us are being sold in provincial capitals such as Mazar, Samangan, Kabul, Sar-e-Pul, Faryab, Sheberghan, and Charikar.

It is important to note that leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MAIL) is committed to the development of the work of entrepreneurs and support of domestic investors.  

Along with this, the Ministry of Agriculture has had close cooperation with the private sector during 2018 (1397 Solar Year); the ministry holds agricultural exhibition twice a year in order to support domestic products and private sector.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) will host farmers’ festival and 22nd Spring Exhibition from March 22-26 (Hama 2-6, 1397 Solar Year) in Kabul’s Badam Bagh.

After the opening of the exhibition, all interested people and citizens can visit the exhibition in Badam Bagh without any restrictions, view their country's exquisite products and buy their needs.
