150 Small Greenhouses are built for women farmers in Paktia

The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) is building150 small greenhouses for 150 agricultural workers in the center of Paktia and six other districts of the province by National Horticulture and Livestock Project (NHLP).
The equipment of construction of these greenhouses were given to the men of these families, The purpose of building these greenhouses, along with strengthening the economy of women farmers, is to produce vegetables in winter.
The process of distributing the tools and equipment for the construction of these greenhouses began in Gardez, the capital of Paktia province.
Mohammad Din Momand, director of agriculture in Paktia province, said, “The greenhouses were distributed to women farmers in the center of Paktia and the districts of Zurmat, Ahmadabad, Sayed Karam, Mirzakah, Lajeh Mangal and Jaji Ariob in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture's National Horticulture and Livestock Project (NHLP).
In addition to distributing greenhouses, the beneficiary women are also given a variety of vegetable seeds and are also taught how to grow vegetables in greenhouses.
For several years now, construction of greenhouses for women farmers in Paktia province has begun, with good results.
As vegetables are an important source of healthy nutrition, the Ministry of Agriculture (MAIL) builds greenhouses for hundreds of women farmers every year to promote healthy nutrition among families and create job opportunities for women.
