Dalwa 1: January 20, 2021
Hashmatullah Ghafouri, deputy minister of irrigation and natural resources of the Ministry of Agriculture, with a number of officials from the Afghan chambers federation, Afghanistan chamber of agriculture and livestock, chamber of commerce and investment, chamber of commerce and women's industries, industry and commerce discussed.
Mr. Ghafouri said at the meeting that the purpose of the meeting was to increase exports to the UAE many times this year. He talked with traders and investors who export agricultural products to the emirate about their problems with using air and ground transport, processing, packaging, certifications, standardization of fruits and vegetables.
Hashmatullah Ghafouri said that at first the products that are in line with the market demand of the UAE should be prioritized and the farmers should be worked on for longer-term goals.
He stressed that thirteen items that can meet the demand of the UAE market must be seriously worked on.
At the meeting, chambers of commerce officials, businessmen and investors complained about the lack of facilities to export products by air, saying they could not export at the right time. They stressed that the officials of the air corridor are negligent and have a double attitude.
The UAE is a good market for Afghanistan's agricultural products, and some agricultural and horticultural products have been exported to that country for several years.
