Mr. Abdul Qadeer Jawad has academic foundation in economics, business administration and finance. As a Chevening Scholar at the University of Leeds in the UK, he completed a Master of Science in Economics (MSc Economics) with a research focus on Socioeconomic Challenges of Mining in Afghanistan. He also holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and a Bachelors
degree in Finance and Marketing from Pakistan. For the past nine years he has applied his education at a national and regional level as a policy analyst and portfolio manager within a variety of ministries and agencies including the Government of Afghanistan’s (GoA) Ministry of Finance as Head of Fiscal Policy, GoA Ministry of Economy, the World Bank Country Office in Kabul, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Prior to his appointment as Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration at Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock ,he has been serving as a technical advisor on economic and financial aspects of mining at the GoA Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP).
