Saleem Khan Kundozi was born on15th of March 1974 in Mirshiek Village of Ali Abad District,Kunduz Provice. During his stay as a refugee in Pakistan, He completed his F.Sc from Islamia College Peshawer and then his B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. (Hons) in the field of Agriculture Economics from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan. During his studies, Mr. Kundozi conducted research on the economic analysis of apple production and marketing constraints. Throughout his academic life, he was member of Union of International Students and was also involved with the UNHCR and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).
Over the past several years, Mr. Kundozi has acquired extensive knowledge and experience in the Financial Management, budget formulation and execution, donor coordination and policies related to grants and loans, sector policies/strategies and the Afghanistan National Development Strategy (ANDS), most particularly in relation to the agriculture and rural development sector.
Mr. Kundozi has also accumulated several years of experience working with the International and National Organizations and Afghan Government, notably Sector officer with the AACA based in Presidential compound, Portfolio Monitoring and Budget Coordination Manager in the Development Budget and External Relations Unit of the Ministry of Finance. He was subsequently appointed Sector Manager of the Agriculture and Rural Rehabilitation Sector (Budget Department) in the Ministry of Finance.
Mr. Kundozi later joined the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock as Director General of Finance and Administration before being appointed as Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration.
Mr. Kundozi has also led, participated and represented Afghanistan in several national and international conferences across Asia, North America, Europe and the Middle East.
