Background

Agriculture Market Infrastructure Project (AMIP) is one of the developmental projects of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, and has two major components of

 

 (i) Agriculture Marketing Infrastructure and

 (ii) Project Management and Supervision

 

Under the Agriculture Marketing Infrastructure component, five modern livestock slaughterhouses and 19 processing centers for horticulture produce at the production areas will be established. Support to the product standard development in terms of development of food safety policies and products standards, as well as provision of equipment and capacity building of the horticulture produce testing labs will be provided.

            

 

Duties & Responsibilities :

Under the overall supervision of the Project Director and direct supervision of the Admin/Finance Manager, the incumbent performs the following duties:

  • Follow up on internal correspondence with the Ministry and, as appropriate, external communication;
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling and preparing meetings, placing and responding to phone calls, copying, distributing and documenting correspondence;
  •  Assist in preparation of presentations and other documents as requested;
  • Take meeting minutes, organize and distribute minutes as required
  •  Assist staff in the arrangement of official travels and missions;
  • Draft official emails and correspondence;
  • Keeping track of the transport log-book for the office vehicles;
  • Oversee maintenance of vehicle;
  • Ensure an orderly transport system and schedule for the office;
  • Inform senior staff members of any major problems with the vehicle in order to ensure a speedy remedy;
  •  Ensuring proper maintenance of filing system;
  •  Ensure materials are handled in a business sensitive and confidential manner;
  • Preparing inventory lists;
  • Be able to write request letters in local languages to Ministry Management and in English Language to Donor & Project Stakeholders
  • Be able to make proper procurement of needed items for project, using Governmental and ADB procurement guidelines
  • Keeping updated Leave Records of the staff
  • Maintain meeting and project activity calendar; and Perform any other official duties as required.

            

 

Qualifications :

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration
  • Minimum 3 years Government, ADB, WB or UN financial management Experience
  • Excellent English and local language and computer skills
